Privacy & Data Protection Center

Health information is sensitive. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Your three choices

  • Completely private — kept by VAX-SIN only; not included in analyses or publications.
  • Anonymous research data — identifying details removed; may be included in statistics and shared with researchers.
  • May be published as a personal story — only after you approve the final text; you can withdraw at any time.

Questions and answers

What health information is collected?

Only what you choose to enter in the report form: age range, sex, country, vaccine type and dose, symptom onset, symptoms and their duration, diagnoses, tests, treatment and current status. Your name is optional. An email address is required to verify and manage your report.

Why is it collected?

To document personal experiences, to identify patterns in aggregated anonymous data, to support research, and — if you ask — to put you in touch with relevant information. It is never used for advertising.

Where is it stored?

Forms on this website are processed by our website platform provider (Shopify) and delivered to the VAX-SIN team. Before large-scale collection, reports will be moved to a dedicated, encrypted system; this page will be updated with the details.

Who can see it?

Only authorized members of the VAX-SIN team who need it to review reports. Identifying details are never published.

Is it shared with researchers?

Only if you chose “Anonymous research data” or “May be published”, and only in anonymized, aggregated form, under a data-use agreement. Reports marked “Completely private” are never shared.

How is anonymization done?

Names, email addresses and any other direct identifiers are removed. Free text is reviewed for identifying details. Small groups that could identify a person are not published separately.

How can I delete my report?

Write to us through the contact page from the email address you used in the report and ask for deletion.

How can I withdraw consent?

At any time, the same way. Withdrawal applies from that moment on; anonymous aggregated statistics already published cannot be traced back to you.

How long is the information kept?

Only as long as needed for the purposes above. A specific retention period will be published here after legal review.

Information about minors

Reports about a person under 18 may be submitted only by a parent or legal guardian. Stories about minors are not published.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

The website platform uses cookies needed for the site to work, and may use analytics to understand site traffic. Health information from reports is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never sold.

This Privacy Center is being reviewed for compliance with the GDPR, Israeli privacy law and other applicable laws. The formal privacy policy applies to the website as a whole. Questions: use the contact page.
